That passage about judgement is referring ...@Chris. That passage about judgement is referring to hypocritical judgement. There are passages, such as Hebrews 12 that tell us we're to watch over each other's souls. That means confronting and seeing fruit for what it is. Prodigal son is a good point and I think it's obvious from MAtt. 7 to see that only God will know whose are His but they were rejected because they didn't know Him..if they had they wouldn't have been "workers of lawlessness." 1 John talks about the fact that no one who loves God stays in habitual sin but struggles and fights to overcome it because ultimately they will love God more than their sin. Salvation is a relationship and that also seems clear in Matt. 7. I've quoted Matt. 7 til I'm blue in the face...and still people reject the points. The fruit he's looking for isn't miracles, signs, and prophesying but a heart that loves God so much that they can't stand to sin against Him. Very simple. All these chasing after signs and wonders in the modern apostolic/prophetic movement scares me because that's the emphasis it seems. Paul does call us to rebuke our brothers as did also Jesus. For sure, our job is never to sentence our brethren, but to guide them in love. But if one is an unbeliever or acting like an unbeliever we are to put them out of our fellowship. Jesus was good friends with all sorts of people that had all sorts of bad reputations and that is fine. We are all in varying states of wretchedness when found. But once the truth is known and seen we are to repent. Our live should be a continual progression of purification and sanctification. T...Be careful emphasizing hate over love and grace. That's teetering on the edge of letting the hate overcome you, and you start to look more like those with Westboro.

From the same chapter in Matthew: 1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

We do not know how God's scales are balanced. If we try to judge people based on our interpretation of God's Law, we are doing God's job for him, which we are not meant to do. We are called to be witnesses, not judge, jury, and executioner. God is the Judge, Satan the prosecution, and Jesus our Defense.

As for who gets into Heaven, that, also is for God to decide. He is the one who will decide who gets mercy and who does not. I prefer to look at the Prodigal Son story. You have the unrighteous son, who is welcomed into the house(Heaven) and thrown a party by the loving Father (who is willing to do very humbling acts to get his son back), and the righteous son who is so full of pride and pity for himself that he does not even enter the party(Heaven) even after a DIRECT invitation from his father. This goes in direct contrast to the way we think getting into Heaven works. Who, then, gets into Heaven? Only God knows.

Then how should we live? Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17275635102809606566noreply@blogger.com
